Important Notice:
Photofolks,
I’ve missed working with you during the last few months and hope that your
life and your art have been enjoyable and productive.
Bad News:
I’m sorry to say that at this time I have neither the
time nor the energy to put together another event. I have a new job and with little time to spare, I am re-evaluating my priorities
to the gallery and my art.
I have in part satisfied my goal of getting models and photographers together to experience,
experiment, and learn; I believe it has been a successful venture. I hope to take up the project again, perhaps as early as
this Fall or Winter, though I have a solo show at Hopkins Center for the Arts in October,
a group show at Altered Esthetics in Nov, and several SSCA shows - which will necessitate much of my time. I hope the photoop
events have inspired you, and that they will continue in the future.
Good News:
One of the PhotoOP photographers, Chris Vilseck, has found
a space with which to carry on the project, but under a different name and slightly different angle. Coincidentally, the space
he rents is a photography co-op named “Photo-Op”. The name of the new “event” is exPOSEure. He is leaning toward having somewhat established photographers work with models in a more mature setting. Cost should
be about the same as it was at the gallery.
I will be assisting Chris with this new venture, so if you
have any questions, feel free to contact me.
For those models that still would like to work with me personally,
I would be more than happy to! Weekends are best for me; just email and we’ll work out a shoot. photoop@mindspring.com . I will keep the site up and finish updating it with the photos that have been and
will be sent. Feel free to use this as a reference to advertise your experience. The URL is http://photoop.home.mindspring.com
Thanks for making
Photo-OP a wonderful experience! Hope to see you again. All the best!
Cheers,
Cris t Halverson
